Nyles Salmond grew up in the Ogden, Utah area. After graduating from Ogden High School and a year of college at Weber State College, he served a mission to Oslo Norway. After his mission, Brother Salmond completed his bachelors degree at Weber State University in Elementary Education. He had also completed a masters degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading difficulties through a joint program through Weber State and Utah State Universities. Brother Salmond completed his Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Arizona in 1991.

Brother Salmond started teaching for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Church Educational System at Moab, Utah almost thirty years ago. He was principal of the Moab Seminary for four years. His family was then transferred to Tucson, Arizona. He taught at several Tucson area seminaries as well as the Tucson and Pima Institutes of Religion over a thirteen-year span. He and his family was asked to transfer to the Seattle Institute of Religion (to organize an area-wide CES chorale program) and served there as an instructor and director for ten years. A little over three years ago, he was asked to transfer to Logan, Utah and the Logan Institute of Religion, where he is currently teaching. Brother Salmond was brought to the Logan Institute to direct the Logan Institute choir, an auditioned chorale group called the Latter-day Voices. The Latter-day Voice group is one of the select groups of singers that represents the Church each Spring as they tour the United States. This past year, the Latter-day Voices toured Colorado and Wyoming for the Church performing for over 3000 people over a seven-day period.

Brother Salmond and his wife of thirty years, Patty, are the parents of eight children and are the grandparents of five grandchildren. He loves his family and Sunday evenings with them! Brother Salmond has served as a bishop twice and has served in many other Church callings. He is currently the 11-year-old scout leader in his ward and LOVES Primary.

Robert and his wife Kelli reside in Bellevue, WA. Together they have five children ranging from 9 to 24 years of age and a Brittney Spaniel. They are eagerly looking forward to being first time grandparents in September.

He was raised in Alaska, North Dakota and graduated from high school in Ogden Utah. He received a B.S. in Economics and Doctorate of Humanities from Weber State University and an MBA from Northwestern University in Chicago.

Robert served an LDS mission in Hamburg, Germany from 1980-82. He currently serves as the gospel doctrine teacher in the Cougar Mountain Ward of the Bellevue South Stake. He has served twice as a bishopric counselor, twice as young men's president, High Priest group leader and Sunday school president.

Since 2003 he has been T-Mobile USA's CEO. He has been with T-Mobile and its predecessor companies, VoiceStream Wireless and Western Wireless, since 1996 where he helped launch the first digital wireless markets in the United States. He is chairman of CTIA the national wireless telecommunications industry association.

He serves on the board of directors for the Henry's Fork Foundation and Weber State University. He and his wife enjoy climbing and hiking together. He is an avid outdoorsman, historian, photographer and collector of artifacts related to fly-fishing the American West.
